
A series of articles appeared in the newsletter on the
connection between the Brahmo Samaj and the Unitarians, which started with the visit to Britain in 1831 of Raja Rammohun Roy, who sadly died in Bristol and is buried in Arnos Vale cemetery. He was visiting
Lant Carpenter, and made a big impression on
Mary Carpenter. A joint
Brahmo Samaj and Unitarian service is held every year at his tomb. The connection is important because it is a very early example of the openness of Unitarians to other faiths.
